This study is aimed at finding out the impact of instructional materials in the teaching and learning of Account in secondary schools in Warri.
Educators normally have always felt the need to see that teachers adopt the appropriate methods of teaching Account subject and acquire skills to meet the needs of the student and the society. But recent finding have shown that most students tend to run away from some lectures like Account when been taught because they don’t understand the subject matter being taught by their teachers. And this attitude of some students during learning or towards learning have been traced to method of teaching by the teachers, the lack of effective instructional materials in the teaching learning situation of the subject, some is the organization of the learning environment e.t.c. some of the learning environment are that some of the students do not have sits to write on, others do not have the financial support of their parents to purchase some of these instructional materials like the text books. And this affects their performance in the studying of Account subject in class because they will not be focused but they will be thinking of how they can buy their text books to read and pass their exams.
There is the need to employ the use of instructional material in the teaching and learning of Account in the secondary schools. This can be done by the class room teacher making conscious effort to see that learners are given the right kind of education based on the school curriculum.
